Scp-3825

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3825 is to be kept in a Class IV Anomalous Artifact Containment Vault at Site-81. The vault is to be constantly monitored, with additional fail-safes and redundancies in place to prevent any potential breach. All personnel with access to SCP-3825 must undergo extensive testing and screening, and are prohibited from making direct physical contact with the object.

In the event of an uncontrolled exposure incident, the surrounding area is to be immediately evacuated, and all affected personnel are to be contained and quarantined. Mobile Task Force Eta-10 ("Leap Frog") has been deployed to respond to any incidents involving SCP-3825.

Description: SCP-3825 is an ancient anomalous artifact of unknown origin and purpose. It appears to be a roughly cylindrical ceramic or stone object, approximately 23 cm in length and 9 cm in diameter, with intricate geometric and symbolic carvings covering its surface. The artifact itself is inert and does not display any anomalous properties when isolated.

However, when SCP-3825 is in close proximity to living beings, it begins to exhibit highly unpredictable and dangerous effects. Individuals within a 10 meter radius of the object experience a range of physical and mental distortions, including:

  • Spontaneous mutations and bodily transformations
  • Distortion or complete breakdown of the laws of physics and reality
  • Vivid hallucinations and dissociative mental states
  • Uncontrollable fluctuations in the victim's personality and memories

The severity and nature of these effects seem to vary wildly, and attempts to study or contain them have proven extremely challenging. In several instances, exposure to SCP-3825 has resulted in the outright destruction or reshaping of the surrounding environment and infrastructure.

The Foundation's understanding of SCP-3825's origins, purpose, and full range of anomalous properties remains extremely limited. It is suspected that the artifact may be a remnant of an advanced ancient civilization with capabilities far beyond our current scientific understanding. Efforts are ongoing to determine the true nature and extent of the threat posed by SCP-3825.

Incident Log 3825-A: On 08/14/20██, SCP-3825 was reported to be missing from its containment vault at Site-81. Security footage showed that the artifact had somehow bypassed all containment protocols and security measures before vanishing without a trace. An immediate search was launched, but no trace of SCP-3825 has been detected. The site was placed on high alert, and all available Mobile Task Forces were deployed to locate and re-contain the object. The potential global consequences of an uncontrolled SCP-3825 incident have been deemed catastrophic, and the Foundation is operating under the assumption that SCP-3825 is now in the hands of an as-yet-unknown hostile party.
